Partner Research

Your business partner in Japan should be a powerful, dynamic and resourceful Japanese company that can satisfactorily represent your company.

The partner is usually a Japanese exclusive distributor that buys your products from the U.S. and sells them to the customers (dealers) in Japan such as retail stores, direct mail firms, Infomercial companies and e-commerce marketplace companies. The distributor should have distribution center in Japan for nationwide distribution.

Many foreign companies believe that if they appoint their distributors in Japan, they will take care of the rest and orders will be coming. It does not happen that way in Japan. Most distributors and trading companies in Japan do not promote the products to their customers and do not develop the market. They will invest their time and money only when they think the product has huge potential. So, the important thing is that when you conduct marketing research, you should research highly resourceful business partner candidates that seem interested in your product.

If they are interested in becoming your distributor in Japan, you will discuss with them what you want them to do to successfully develop the market for your product and to develop the sustainable sales. You also need to ensure your distributor has enough budget to run the national ad on a regular basis to support the retail stores that sell your product. All the details of the distributor`s responsibilities must be stipulated in the Exclusive Distribution Agreement to be signed between your company and the Japanese distributor.

We will help you find an aggressive and reliable business partner in Japan and  sign the Exclusive Distribution Agreement.
